Dr. Shameer Khader, currently Global Head of Computational Biology Cluster at Sanofi, brings over 15 years of leadership experience in building cross-functional teams and optimizing data and AI solutions in pharma, healthcare, and life sciences. He leads multiple, global teams with a focus on data science, AI, human genetics, and translational bioinformatics. His expertise spans clinical, pre-clinical, and post-clinical use cases. At Sanofi, Shameer’s team is developing an industry-leading, comprehensive disease research data ecosystem; integrating various data types to accelerate target identification, drug discovery and drug repositioning using advanced analytics approaches like knowledge graphs and large language models in the setting of precision medicine. Previously, he held key roles at AstraZeneca and renowned health systems like Mayo Clinic and Mount Sinai. Shameer holds a PhD in computational biology from NCBS – TIFR, Bangalore and an MPH from Imperial College, London, and completed post-doctoral training from Mayo Clinic. He has made substantial contributions to biomedicine with over 150 peer-reviewed papers, conference abstracts, and patents.
