11:30 AM Workshop B: Achieving Harmonization Across Data Formats and Interfaces to Improve Overall Lab Efficiencies

One of the biggest challenges that lab IT and informatics leaders face is the lack of harmonization across data formats, interfaces, applications and systems. This results in long, manually-driven integration processes which impact both available resources and overall lab efficiency.

This workshop will provide a practical playbook on how to achieve harmonization across such formats and interfaces, and analyze some of the key findings and results from collaborative efforts between the informatics community, particularly that of the Allotrope Foundation.

Discussion Points Include:

  • Providing an overview of the Allotrope Framework and how this has enabled cross-data transfer, facilitated finding, accessing and sharing data, and enabled increase automation in a lab data flow with a reduced need for error-prone manual input
  • Establishing a robust data governance model across HPLC, Mass Spectrometry, NMR , general technical issues, certification and support processes
  • Find out how you can achieve simplified and systems integration, while reducing manual paper and processes and drive overall lab efficiency

Main Conference Day One Nov 19 2019

Tuesday, November 19th, 2019

2:10 PM Bridging the Gap Across Systems and Applications by Standardizing Interfaces and Data Formats

  • Overcoming challenges in instrument integration through a standardized method for interfacing
  • Ensuring plug-and-play capabilities for new instruments through flexible and standardized data formats
  • Reducing overhead challenges and labor-intensive integration

4:10 PM Closing Panel Discussion: Practical Takeaways and Examples of Successful Instrument and Application Integration

  • Are manual processes here to stay or are there real life examples of successful instrument and application integration?
  • What new technologies are facilitating instrument and application integration with the lab setting?
  • Will LIMS solutions evolve or will pharma companies develop their own unified platform for an integrated lab approach
  • Highlighting success stories and tangible business outcomes in integrating data across systems and applications
