Len Blackwell leads the Analytical Development Strategic Analytics group at Biogen which brings digitization and efficiency to the laboratories through automated processes including robotics, data processing and data analytics. He represents Biogen among the Allotrope board of directors whose mission, using a framework for data standardization, is to revolutionize the way scientific data is acquired, shared, and used to gain insights. His career path has transitioned from academia, biotechnology, and biopharmaceuticals with a variety of companies and institutions. Len is passionate about the realization of complete laboratory digitization in the biopharmaceutical space. He received his Ph.D. in Biochemistry at New York University and completed a post-doctoral fellowship with Dr. Paul Modrich at Duke University, who in 2015 won the Nobel Prize for his lifetime achievements in DNA mismatch repair.
