Pharma IQ Glossary: Data Migration
Data Migration is defined as the process of translating data from one system to another when a company replaces the current computing systems with a new one. Data migration phases (design, extraction, cleansing, load, verification) for applications of moderate to high complexity are commonly repeated several times before the new system is deployed. CFR 21 Part 11 mandates that data migration implementation create accurate and complete copies of the records when they are moved to a new system.
