The amount of regulation governing companies in the pharmaceutical sector continues to increase. Indeed between 2009-2012, the global pharmaceutical industry amassed fines of more than $11bn for criminal wrongdoing, including withholding safety data and promoting drugs for use beyond their licensed conditions.[1]Furthermore, pharmaceutical companies are under investigation by regulators in many jurisdictions for alleged bribery and corruption offences.[2]
